KRESS, William M. – of Chesaning, died Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Maple Woods Manor in Clio. He was 92 years of age.
Bill was born January 30, 1929 in Dearborn, MI to the late Raymond and Christine (Horger) Kress. He resided most of his life in Chesaning coming from Owosso. Mr. Kress served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Ellen Thomas on November 25, 1964. Bill retired from Chesaning Oil and Gas with 45 years seniority. He was a member of St. Peter Parish, the neighborhood card club, Modern Pioneers Camping Club and enjoyed going to senior dinners in Chesaning and Marion Springs.
Surviving are: wife, Ellen; children: Michael (Lorna) Kress of TN, Mark (Penny) Kress of Houghton Lake, Mitchell (Kelly) Kress of Chesaning, Melissa (Eric) Kayanek of Chesaning; 7 grandchildren: Josh Kress, Molly (Todd) Tillman, Jennifer Kress, Emily Baker, Scott (Brittney) Rubey, Hunter Rubey and Nick Ostrander; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Remboski of NC; sisters-in law, Jeanne Petru Lake George, Mi, Janice (Bill Hunt), Tennessee; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: 2 sisters: Donelda Stechschulte and Lois Kress; 3 brothers-in-law: Don Remboski, John Stechschulte and Joseph Petru.
Fr. William Gruden will officiate at the memorial service to be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Misiuk Funeral Home. Final inurnment with US Army funeral honors will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of the memorial service.
