GROSS, Edward Michael – of Chesaning, died Saturday, December 29, 2018, at St. Mary’s of Michigan. He was 70 years of age.
Ed was born April 5, 1948, in Saginaw to the late Ferdinand and Armella (Schlachter) Gross and was a Chesaning resident most of his life. He attended St. Michael High School in Maple Grove and married Dianna Lynn Muirhead in August 1968. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2003. Mr. Gross retired from Flint Truck and Bus and was a member of the UAW. Ed enjoyed going for car rides, detailing cars, traveling, vacations, helping his brother-in-law with mowing, gardening, tinkering in his garage, and motorcycling.
Surviving are daughters: Kimberly Gross of Holland, Jill Lee Gross (significant other Jeff Yule) of Traverse City, Anndee Gross (significant other Craig Lipar) of East Lansing; grandson, Duke Lipar; Ed's significant other, Laurie Willson of Chesaning; Laurie’s daughter, Audra (Tom) Jungnitsch, and children, Mazlynn and Cash Jungnitsch of Merrill; mother-in-law, Dorothy Weber of Chesaning; siblings, Linda (Tom) James, Sue (Louie) Henige, Louie (Norma) Gross, Dianne (Bill) Krupp, Kathleen Gross-Castanon; brothers-in-law, Dennis Muirhead (significant other Shirley Powell), Dale (Carol) Muirhead, Doug Muirhead, Dick (Nanette) Muirhead; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. On Saturday, January 12, 2019, there will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 South Wood Street, Chesaning. After Mass, the family would like you to join a luncheon/celebration in honor of Ed at Knights of Columbus Hall, 9171 Deitering Road, Chesaning. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family or charity of one’s choice.
