George Douglas Lorencz

Age 58 of Chesaning passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at St. Peter’s (formerly known as Our Lady). The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 9:00pm on Tuesday, March 3 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel with a Knights of Columbus Rosary prayed at 8:00pm, and also at St. Peter’s on Wednesday from 2:00pm until the time of service.

George was born on September 26, 1956 to George and Dorothy (Czuba) Lorencz in Owosso, Michigan. He married Janet Gerding on June 11, 1977 at Our Lady Catholic Church.

George retired from General Motors where he worked as a production leader for over 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, he served on the board of directors at Twin Brooks, and he was a park manager in Chesaning. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

George is survived by his wife, Janet; his sons, Cameron Lorencz and Alex (Becca) Lorencz; his father, George Lorencz; and his siblings, Debra (Kim) Hajek, Greg (Karen) Lorencz, Griffin (Kristy) Lorencz, Glen Lorencz, and Delora (Rob) Bishop; along with several nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, his sister Denella, and his brother Gorden.
