Age 83 of Ovid, formerly of Chesaning, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Gruden and Fr. John Cotter officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, January 26 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel with a Rosary prayed at 6:30pm and a Prayer service following,

Carlos was born on April 8, 1933 to Bernardo and Carmen (Rosas) Escamilla Sr. in Brownsville, Texas. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. Carlos married MariaElena Sauceda in 1967 in La Feria, TX. They celebrated 45 years of marriage before she predeceased him in 2013.
Carlos worked for GM for over 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Ovid and the Knights of Columbus in Chesaning. During his life, he enjoyed dining out, spending time with his family, and "torturing" his grandkids.
Carlos is survived by his daughters, Marta (Brian) Escamilla and Micaela Escamilla; his son, Mario (Anna) Escamilla; his grandchildren, Aviana Jo, Emilia Soo, Francisco, and Carmi Jian; his sister, Concepcion Rodriguez; his brothers, Esteban (Mary Lou) Escamilla, Sr. and Marcos (Florencia) Garcia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
He is predeceased by his wife, MariaElena S. Escamilla; his parents; and his brothers, Guadalupe Escamilla, Bernardo Escamilla Jr., and Matias Escamilla Sr.
