Penny passed away peacefully Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Union Court, St. Charles. Age 77 years. Penny was born November 22, 1941 in Saginaw to William “Pint” and Louise (Schweizer) Allen. She married David Rusz on November 26, 1960. He preceded her on November 18, 2018. Penny was a member of Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in St. Charles. She was a “domestic goddess” wife and mom who enjoyed bowling, traveling, cooking, gardening, wintering in Panama City Beach, Florida and spending time with family and friends.

 

Surviving are her children and spouses, Jennifer (Stuart) Lederer, Gerald (Mary) Rusz and Matthew (Liesa) Rusz; grandchildren, Nicholas Rusz, Sarah Lederer, Ava Lederer, McKenna Rusz, Hayden Rusz and Rachel Rusz; brother, Bill (Sue) Allen; sister, Candy (Jim) Hession and in-laws, John (Fumi) Russ, Lois Rusz, Joseph (Kathy) Rusz, Patrick (June) Rusz and Mike (MaryAnn) Rusz and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded by her parents.

 

Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at St. Peter Parish, 404 S. Wood St., Chesaning. Fr. Bill Gruden will officiate with cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the Kendall Funeral Home, 316 W. Belle Ave., St. Charles, on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Charles Public Library in Penny’s memory.
