Age 96 of Chesaning passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Gruden officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 9:00pm on Tuesday, August 23 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel with a Rosary prayed at 8:00pm, and also at the church on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service.
Pauline was born on May 22, 1920 to Joseph and Mary (Kurtzman) Gewirtz in Maple Grove Township. She married Elmer L. Gasper on October 7, 1939 at St. Paul's in Owosso; they celebrated 46 years of marriage before he predeceased her in 1985.
Pauline was a very hard worker; she worked alongside her husband on the farm for many years. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and playing cards. She also loved camping with her family.
Pauline is survived by her sons, Ron (Judy) Gasper, and William (Rose) Gasper; her daughters, Joan (Mark) Nachtman, Doris (Ben) Bishop, and Patricia (Alan) Hitz; her 18 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
She is predeceased by her husband, Elmer; her parents, Joseph and Mary; her daughter-in-law Beverly Gasper; two grandchildren; and 10 siblings.
