Mary "May" Brigid McCaffrey

Age 81 of Chesaning passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Friday, June 5, at St. Michael Catholic Church of Oakley. Burial will follow at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Oakley. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home, Martin Chapel on Thursday from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 8pm.

Mary was born January 10, 1934 in Dunboyne, Ireland, the daughter of Christopher and Elizabeth (Russell) Poleon.

Mary moved to London, England where she was a maid for many years. While in London she met the love of her life, Terence "Ted" Patrick McCaffrey. On March 12, 1960 in London Mary and Ted got married. Later moving to Chesaning Mary worked at Electro Wire Products in Owosso, and Tuscarora Plastics in Chesaning where she retired. In her retirement she became a caregiver.

In her free time she loved to spend time with her family and friends, and meeting new people, which is why she loved her crafts and craft shows. Her favorites were the Saginaw County Fair, Old Gas Tractor Show, and Santa's Village. Nothing gave her more joy than watching children play. Mary was also member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Oakley for many years.

Mary is survived by her Husband; Daughter, Sarah Hart; Son, Val (Bernadine) Poleon; Grandchildren, Victoria (Lucas) Sims, David Hart, and Alyn Poleon; Great-grandchildren, Layne, Caidence, and Lauren; Seven Brothers, John Poleon, Sylvester (Margaret) Poleon, Shamus (Violet) Poleon, Paddy (Carol) Poleon, Kevin (Susan) Poleon, Anthony (Carmel) Poleon, William (Carmel) Poleon; Two Sisters, Kathleen Galvin, Betty Greene; Sister-in-laws Ann Poleon and Donna Poleon.

She was predeceased by her Parents, Brothers, Brian Poleon, Oliver Poleon and Christopher Poleon; Brother-in-laws Con Greene, Tommy Galvin, and Sister-in-law Marie Poleon
