She retired from Universal Electric in Owosso (where she made many friends) over several years. After retirement, she and Jerry spent several summers at their family cabin in Hale. They loved having grandchildren, family, and friends visit at the cabin. Her hobby was taking pictures, making several copies, and sharing them with family and friends. She’s the only person her family knew who wore out more than four cameras! She and Jerry were also Eucharist ministers and spent many years helping with funeral dinners at the church. They were involved with the American Legion post 212 which she was a 41-year Ladies Auxiliary member. Both volunteered during Showboat week at the Legion food booth.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Jerry Hoover; their children, Karen Hoover, Eileen (Randy) Stoddard, Patrick (Tracy) Hoover, Mike (Laura) Hoover, and Leverette (Jackie) Hoover. Ten grandchildren, Nick, John, Kyle, Kimberly, Jacob, Tyler, Gracie, Keith, Tricia and Josh. Eight+ great-grandchildren Keighan, Keilee, Pierce, Landon, Paislee, Kade, Preston, Abigail, and she knew she was going to have four new Great-grandchildren in 2023! One brother survives her: Bernard and wife Mary Ann Schoch as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by in-laws, Rose Gasper, Patricia and Joe Andres, Sue Devereux, Nancy and Harry Kneiper and Tom Hoover.
She was predeceased by siblings and their spouses: Lola and Bill Ruhl, Fritz and Geneva Schoch, Harold and Laura Schoch, and Lois and Frank Struck; and In-laws: Robert Gasper, Bernard Robinson, Jeanette and Dave Bell.
She and Jerry also had six God children they have enjoyed over the years: Sue (Gasper) Henige, Dale Ruhl, Janet Hoover, and Kevin Struck; two have predeceased her: Rodney Kerson and Julie Bell.
The family would like to thank the management, staff, and hairdressers at the Chesaning Union Court for their kindness, care, and attention to her needs. In addition, the attention and care given by the hospice staff to our Mother and the support given to us over the last several weeks, was much appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or the Ladies' Auxiliary Post 212.
