SUTLIFF, Marion – of Chesaning, age 84 died Saturday, September 15, 2018, at home peacefully surrounded by his family.
Marion was born in Chapin Twp. on July 26, 1934, to the late R D and Irene (Thompson) Sutliff. He was a resident of Chesaning for over 52 years. Marion was united in marriage to Betty Hall on August 17, 1957. He worked at Hehr Manufacturing for 18 years prior to working and retiring from Chesaning Union Schools in 1996, with 23 years seniority. He was an active member of St. Peter Parish, Knights of Columbus St. Christopher Council #2943 and the Showboat Wheelers Camping Club. He enjoyed being with his family, woodworking and taking care of his lawn. He was a fan of John Deere tractors and Buicks.
He leaves behind: his wife, Betty; favorite pet Poodle, Jodi; daughter, Angela (Jeff) Weslock of Thomas Twp.; daughter-in-law, Brenda Sutliff of Chesaning; 10 awesome grandchildren: Greg (Holly) Sutliff, Charles Hare, Stephanie (Robert) Dorey, Tanya (Sam) Wardin, Erica Cameron (companion Todd), Joseph Sutliff, Brandon (Vanessa) Weslock, Trevor (Lindsey) Weslock, Garrett Weslock (companion Joel) and Shayna (Gage) Kienitz; 16 awesome great-grandchildren; siblings: Donna Schlacter of Chesaning, Wayne (Cheryl) Sutliff of Henderson, Dianne Apsey (companion Ernest Erskine) of Corunna; sister-in-law, Delores Sutliff of Owosso; brother-in-law, Mike Wiley of Owosso; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Ron Memmer. He was also preceded in death by a son, Gregory Sutliff on May 10, 2017; brothers, Robert, Lee and Vere; a sister, Linda Wiley; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Sutliff and Bernice Sutliff; and brother-in-law, Jim Apsey.
Fr. William Gruden will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at St. Peter Parish in Chesaning. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Merrill. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at Misiuk Funeral Home and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be prayed by the Knights of Columbus at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
