Age 84 of St. Charles passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. A luncheon will then be held at the church, and a burial will follow the luncheon at St. Mary's Cemetery in St. Charles. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 4 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel from 1:00 to 8:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm.
Lawrence was born
… on April 19, 1933 to Louis and Wilhelmina (Brendahl) Mahoney in St. Charles. He married Mary T. Ederer on August 22, 1959 at St. Peter and Paul in Saginaw; they've celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Lawrence was lifelong farmer on his family farm in St. Charles, and he was inducted into the Michigan Farmers Hall of Fame. During his life, he served as St. Charles Township Supervisor and served on the Tri-Township Fire Department Board. He also enjoyed playing Senior Circuit Softball.
Lawrence is survived by his children, Ann (Scott) Buck, Dennis (Jennifer) Mahoney, John (Doris) Mahoney, Laura (Don) Moliterno, Kathleen (Scott) Foldenauer, Theresa Mahoney (Todd Fadoir), and Jeanne (Roger) Pumford; and his 15 grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents, Louis and Wilhelmina; and his siblings, Elmer Mahoney, Bernice Oatten, Ruth Flory, Esther Martin, Frances Lane, Don Mahoney, Fred Mahoney, Bernard Mahoney, and Ed Mahoney.
