McDOUGALL, LaVern C. “Bun” – of Chesaning, died Saturday, June 19, 2021 at his home. He was 90 years of age.
Bun was born May 19, 1931 and was a resident of the Chesaning and St. Charles area most of his life. He was united in marriage to Joan Schneider on June 24, 1950. Mr. McDougall retired from Farmer Peets with 25 years of seniority. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus St. Christopher Council #2943 and the Mid Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years. He enjoyed restoring antique International Harvester tractors, doing body work and painting cars, spending winters in Florida, playing cards and spending time with family.
Surviving are: wife Joan; children: Jerry (Connie) McDougall of Oakley, Jim (Sally) McDougall of Brant, Floyd (Deb) McDougall of Chesaning, Linda (Dale) Blackmer of Grand Haven, Lois (David) Tiesworth of Greenville, Brenda (Hal) Lehman of Chesaning, Lori McDougall (Brad Blakeslee) of Brant; 22 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Arlene) McDougall of Chesaning; many nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends. He was preceded in death by: mother, Mildred Winegar; 3 brothers: William, Kenneth and Floyd; and a great granddaughter, Lakslee Wendling.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Wednesday from 2-7 p.m. where a rosary will be prayed by the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will then be at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of mass at 11 a.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
