Age 76 of Chesaning passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Peter Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel on Thursday, January 21 from 6:00 to 8:00pm and on Friday, January 22 from 2:00 to 8:00pm with a Rosary prayed at 7:00pm.

Joe was born on July 21, 1939 to Fredrick and Frances (Mahoney) Lane in St. Charles. He served in the United States Army. Joe worked as a Utility Manager for GM for 36 years.

Throughout his life, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. He liked rollerblading and playing card games, but mostly he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his children, Francis “Joe”(Kate) Lane Jr., Steven (Lori) Lane, Julie (Tyler) Barlage, and Annette Lane (Glenn Griffin); his 8 grandchildren, Joey, Brian, Kevin, Chelsie (Paul), Kalie, Ashleigh (Braden), Arielle, and Olivia; his great-grandchildren, Garrin and Kayle; his 12 siblings, Fred (Betty) Lane, Bob Lane, Bill (Bev) Lane, Ed (Emmajean) Lane, Catherine (Bob) Kerjes, Tim (Jan) Lane, Loretta (Bob) Delbridge, Joyce (Norm) Rushton, Marie (Ed) Quaderer, Joan Chase, Josephine Rushton, and Nancy (Lou) Connelly; as well as 33 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Patricia.
