Funeral Arrangements for Helen Zubek

Passed away Saturday evening, September 23, 2017, age 96, at The Meadows of Owosso. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 S. Wood Street, Chesaning. Rev. Fr. Joseph Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Oakley. Visitation for Mrs. Zubek will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning and from 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church until time of the Mass.

Helen was born in Owosso on November 24, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Suryn) Kusak. Helen married Joseph J. Zubek, Jr. in April of 1940. They were married for over 50 years before his death on June 6, 1990. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and helped on the family’s farm.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Larry (Paulette) Zubek; her daughter-in-law, Elaine Zubek of Oakley; her grandsons, Alan (Julie) Zubek and Mike (Sandy) Zubek; great-grandchildren, Zeke, Cassie, and Nick; nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, Jr.; a brother, Charley; a sister, Mary; and a son, Donald, who died in 2013.

Charitable donations may be given in memory of Helen to the Chesaning C.A.E.R. Center.
