Age 99 of White Cloud, formerly of Chesaning, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father Bill Gruden officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family receive friends that day from 10:00am until the time of service.
Helen was born on April 10, 1917 to Leo J. and Mary (Albert) Morrissette in Chesaning. She graduated from Our Lady Catholic School with the Class of 1936. She married Leo Roy on September 5, 1936; he predeceased her on April 3, 1979 after 42 years of marriage. She then married Lawrence Maves in 1984; he predeceased her in 1987.
Helen worked as a cook for Chesaning Union Schools for many years before retiring. She was a past member of St. Peter Catholic Church, and was currently a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud. She was a fabulous cook all her life, and she loved having parties and entertaining guests and friends. Above all, Helen's family was first in her life.
Helen is survived by her children, Denise (Martin) Totten, Nancy Cardy, and Dale Maves; her 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; her sister, Jane Alden; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and other loving family and friends.
She is predeceased by her first husband, Leo; her second husband, Lawrence; her daughter, Annette Smith; her parents, Leo and Mary Morrissette; her step-mother, Mary Hollenbach; her two brothers, Albert and Bob; and her four sisters, Frances, Leona, Lucille, and Susanne.
