Harold Damon Mallory
Age 70 of Chesaning passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father Bill Gruden officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Nelson-House Funeral Home Martin Chapel on Thursday, March 2 from 12:00 to 8:00pm with a Rosary and Prayer service at 7:00pm.
Harold was born on February 3, 1947 to… Damon and Helen (Hafner) Mallory in Owosso, MI. He married Paulette Maike on August 8, 1969 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Oakley, MI. They celebrated 47 years of marriage last August.
Harold enjoyed the lifelong labor of farming. He attended Michigan State University and received his degree in agricultural technology. He was an avid and passionate collector of antique Allis-Chalmers tractors. He was an active member of the Mid-Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association. In most recent years, he worked to bring the Gathering of the Orange, a nationwide antique tractor show highlighting the orange Allis-Chalmers tractors he loved, to Oakley's old gas tractor show. He spent his free time traveling the United States with his cherished wife, meeting fellow farmers, antique tractor collectors, and sharing stories. As a lifetime Chesaning resident, he served on the Chesaning community planning board.
Harold is survived by his wife, Paulette; his 4 children, Tracy (Mike) Young, Chuck (Amy) Mallory, DeAnn Gutowski (Tracy Naugle Sr.), and Matt (April) Mallory; his 7 grandchildren, Lena Young, Nathan Young, Alyssa Gutowski, Joe Monroe, Jess Monroe, Mary Irland, and Brooklyn Mallory; his siblings, Carol Beavers, Ronniettia Pancoast, Barb Vogt, Deb Tunney, and Dean Mallory; his brothers-in-law, Richard (Jan) Maike, Alan (Sylvia) Maike, and Craig Maike; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents; his brother, Arthur Mallory; and his grandson Trevor DeRoche.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used for a local agricultural endowment. Read More »
