Virginia “Ginger” Lee Weber, of Chesaning, made her final journey on December 8, 2022, at Memorial Healthcare. She was 78 years old.
Ginger was born on July 6, 1944, in Owosso, Michigan, the third of four children born to Paul and Jennie (Nedry) Weber. She graduated from Chesaning High School in 1962. Following graduation from High School, Ginger enjoyed helping her dad run the Eastside Grocery store until it closed the late ‘70’s.
Ginger was compassionate, determined, and generous. She had a big heart and was well loved by all. Ginger was a caregiver at heart and helped to care for her mom and many family members through the years - always willing to lend a helping hand or give a ride for an appointment. She loved her family and was the matriarch and confidant who kept everyone together and informed. Ginger was the “fun aunt” for her nieces and nephews and treated them all as her own and taught them many life lessons. She was also playful and a bit of a prankster – if she teased you, she loved you.
Ginger was always active and involved in the community. She was a member of Kiwanis and was a lifelong active member of St. Peter Parish where she was a befriender and a volunteer. Ginger also participated in a Wednesday night bowling league and for ten years traveled to State and National bowling competitions with her sister, Judy and mother, Jennie. She loved walking the Showboat Park with her girls, was a big Detroit Tigers fan and an avid crocheter who made beautiful tablecloths and baby blankets for all.
She is survived by her sisters, Judith (Leslie) Thomas and Sharon Flory; brother, Richard (Sharon) Weber; nieces and nephews, Robin, Penny, Chris, Tracy, Amber, Kelly, Greg, Tom and April, as well as extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Jennie; brother-in-law, Gerald Flory and nephew, Jeffrey Thomas.
