Elmer Victor Schneider 

Age 87 of Chesaning passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at St. Peter Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at McGeehan Funeral Homes Martin Chapel on Monday, July 11th from 2:00pm to 7:00pm with a Rosary prayed at 7:00pm. Visitation will also take place at the church on Tuesday from 10:00am until the service. 

Elmer was born on August 6, 1934 to Harold and Caroline (Wendling) Schneider in Chesaning; he was one of 16 children. He married Joan Coughlin on April 7, 1956; they celebrated 66 years of marriage. 

Elmer was a hardworking farmer all his life. He took great pride in his farm. Elmer also loved building birdhouses and restoring antique plows: he had over 680 antique plows on display at his home. Most of all, he loved being with his family. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. 

Elmer is survived by his wife, Joan Schneider; their children, Karen (Vic) Barancik, Sheree (Dale) Hafner, Bryan Schneider, Mary Jo (Ron) Nietling, Vickie (Kevin) Vincke, and Mike Schneider; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy, Carmen, Jessica, Shana, Nicholas, Russell, Travis, Crystal, Lance, Brett, and Jordan; 7 great-grandchildren, Kyler, Owen, Spencer, Johnny, Ally, Willow, and Sebastian; his siblings, Harold, Wilbert, Donny, Anne, Ed, Virginia, Mary Jane, and Eva; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

He is predeceased by his parents; his son, Jeffrey "Scooby" Schneider; grandson, Ryan Spike; great-grandson, William Spike; and 7 brothers and sisters.
