Caroline Marie Macek, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, entered eternal life on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Union Court Chesaning, Michigan. Age 92 years. Daughter of the late John and Margaret (Menzel) Rehmann, she was born January 22, 1926 in Albee Township, MI.
Caroline was married to Joseph Macek on June 10, 1944; he predeceased her on February 25, 2013. She was a member of Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish, and belonged to the Altar Society, St. Jude Bible Study Group, Legion of Mary, Mothers Club of Fergus and Past member of the Defenders.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Ted (Karen) Macek of Florence, AZ, and their children Alissa (Adam) Zank, Jenna (Curtis) Moxley – Beckett; Ron (Rosemary) Macek, of Farmington Hills, MI and their children, Rebecca (Dave) Lohse – Rachel and Kaden, Patrick (Lisa) Macek – Anna and Clara; Dan (Connie) Macek of Arcadia, MI and their children, Nathan (Kara) Macek – Simon and Alden, Ryan (Ashley) Macek – Emmett and Ellee, Ian Macek; Joe (Julie) Macek of Chesaning, MI and their children Jaclyn (Jason) Houser – Lyndon and Caroline, Lindsey (Wesley) Peterman – Kendall; Lois (Don) Damerow of Petoskey, MI and their children, Kurtis and Brittany Damerow; Rob (Pat) Macek of Tipton, MI and their children Blake (Stacey) Macek, Spencer Macek, Don Frey, Jennifer (Lafe) Schneider - Adison and Luis Schneider, Heidi Leutheuser, Sarah (Luis) Castellanos - Haven and Mateo Castellanos. Caroline is also survived by her sister Theresa Zajac, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Mary Timm, Margaret Metiva, Catherine Metiva and brothers, Joseph, Edmund, Lawrence and Harold Rehmann.
The family would like to thank Hospice, the staff of Union Court in Chesaning and St. Charles for their wonderful care and support of Caroline.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at St. Peter Parish, 404 S. Wood St., Chesaning. Fr. Bill Gruden will officiate with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Charles. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
