Roberta Kay (Baker) Tithof of Oakley, better known as Bobby Kay, passed away peacefully and acceptingly with her loving family by her side on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at McLaren-Flint. Her age was 64 years. Bob didn’t care how you spelled “Bobbie” just as long as you did not call her by her given name.
Bobbie Kay was born on December 2, 1954, the third child of the late Henry and Lugertha (Gewirtz) Baker. She graduated from Chesaning Union High School in the Class of 1973. She met the love of her life, Douglas Tithof, in high school and they were united in marriage on July 12, 1975. Together they had four children, Casey, Kendra, Courtney, and Paul.
Bobbie Kay loved being with her family, friends, playing the lotto, cooking, reading, drinking Coca Cola, the paranormal, and watching her Dr. Phil. She provided strength and love for everyone. Bobby Kay never passed judgement on anyone. She was the kindest of souls.
Carrying on her memory is her loving family: husband, Doug; children, Casey (Michael) McIvor, Kendra (Chad) Moore, and Paul (Cassie) Tithof; her beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Sophie, Avery, Emma, Taylor, Henry, Chloe, Abram, and Emmett; her siblings, Rosemary (Alf) Maike, Jack (Dick) Porter, Sally (Ken) Hunt, and Jane Baker; mother-in-law, Millie Tithof; her in-laws, Pat (Tom) Walser, Tom (Yvonne) Tithof, Chris Tithof, Steve (Brenda) Tithof, and Alice Ames; and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Courtney; parents, Henry and Lugertha Baker; brother, Bill Baker; father-in-law, Eugene Tithof; and brothers-in-law, Michael and Peter Tithof.
Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 S. Wood Street, Chesaning. Fr. William Gruden will officiate. The family will be present at the church to welcome relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of the Mass.
