McDougall, Arlene E. – of Chesaning, died Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Union Court Assisted Living. She was 94 years of age.
Arlene was born June 16, 1930, in Maple Grove Twp. to the late John and Elizabeth (Constine) Gross and was a lifelong resident of Chesaning. She was united in marriage to Richard McDougall on August 19, 1950. Mrs. McDougall owned beauty salons, pubs and an antique store at different times She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Parish and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed her family, flowers in her yard, and shaking hands with the one-armed bandits in Mt. Pleasant.
Surviving are: husband, Richard; children and their spouses: Richard K. McDougall (Loretta McLaughlin) of Chesaning, Deb (Don) Hafner of St. Charles, Diane (David) LaVigne of Traverse City, Cherrie (Doug) Giesken of Prudenville, Sandy (Dave) Kunik of St. Charles, Jeff (Ryann) McDougall of Chesaning, Kelly (Lisa) McDougall of Interlochen; 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings and spouses: Harold (Bernarda) Gross, Duane (Dot) Gross, Don (Ann) Gross, Jim (Bertha) Gross, Robert Gross, Catherine (Harold) Gasser, Rita (Milan) Cudney; and a daughter-in-law, Becky McDougall.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11 am Friday, January 10, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Parish with Fr. Thai Nguyen officiating the Mass. Visitation will be held at Misiuk Funeral Home on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 3-7 pm where the family will pray the rosary at 7 pm. There will be visitation at the church on Friday from 10 am until time of Mass. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
