Timothy J. Apsey of Chesaning, age 64, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at his residence after a three year battle with cancer. Tim was born March 25, 1953, in Saginaw to the late Charles and Jean (Radil) Apsey. Tim married Penny Suggitt on October 30, 1976, in Sault Ste. Marie. They have been Chesaning residents for the past 40 years. He earned his degree at Central Michigan University in Industrial Education Power and Energy Tech with a K-12 Teaching Certificate. Mr. Apsey was a teacher and retired from Saginaw Career Comp (COC) with 25 years seniority. He was a member of St. Peter Parish Catholic Church in Chesaning and the Michigan Retired School Teachers Association. Tim was active with the Boy Scouts Council #335 for many years and he enjoyed going camping and rebuilding antique tractors and cars. He is survived by his wife, Penny; a daughter, Katie Apsey of Brooklyn, NY; a son, Patrick Apsey of Saginaw; his sister, Kim Apsey (Gene Levenburg) of Iron Mountain; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his cousin, Cheri Cleary, and many other Apsey cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 South Wood St., Chesaning, Rev. Fr. William Gruden will officiate. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning, and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
