Stephen O. Tithof of Chesaning, died Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso. He was 56 years of age.
Stephen was born October 26, 1962 in Owosso a son to Eugene and Mildred (Pacek) Tithof. He was a resident of Chesaning the past 14 years coming from Oakley. Stephen was a 1980 graduate of Chesaning Union Schools and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Saginaw Valley in 1984. He was united in marriage to Brenda Boyd on June 21,2018. Mr. Tithof retired from Chesaning Union Schools after 28 years of teaching. He then drove semi-truck. Stephen attended St. Peter Catholic Church. He was a football, track and wrestling coach for Chesaning and was the defensive coach when Chesaning won their 2 state titles. He also taught Special Ed in Albee. He enjoyed attending football games, enjoyed all sports and being with his family. Stephen was very well loved and respected by many.
Surviving are: wife, Brenda; stepsons: Chad (Jerae) Priest of TX, Jacob Richards of Lansing; fur babies Oliver and Jackson; mother Millie Tithof of Oakley; siblings: Patricia (Thomas) Walser of Chesaning, Thomas (Evonne) Tithof of Chesaning, Douglas Tithof of Oakley; sisters-in-law Alice Ames of FL and Christina Tithof of Saginaw; many nieces, nephews and many close friends including Gordon and Lori Kelby. He was preceded in death by: father, Eugene Tithof in 2005; brothers, Michael Tithof in 1994 and Peter Tithof in 2015; and sister-in-law, Bobby Kay Tithof in 2019.
Fr. William Gruden will officiate the memorial Mass on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Chesaning. Inurnment to follow in St. Michael Cemetery in Oakley. Visitation will be at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Friday from 12-4 and 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the family.
