Passed away early Friday morning, February 3, 2017, at Genesys Health Park in Grand Blanc. He was 94 years old. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 South Wood Street, Chesaning. Fr. Michael Kuchar will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Oakley. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00-11:30 a.m. at the Misiuk Funeral Home. Final Prayers will be prayed at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home before the funeral procession proceeds to the church for the Funeral Mass.
Jerry was born in New Lothrop on September 13, 1922. He was the son of John and Agnes (Mikulcik) Kuchar. Jerry was an U.S. Veteran of the Air Force, receiving his Honor Discharge. He served during World War II as a top turret gunner on a B-24 bomber. He was a GM retiree, having worked as a General Supervisor at Fisher Body Flint. Jerry moved to Higgins Lake shortly after his retirement. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of St. Hubert Catholic Church at Higgins Lake.
Jerry is survived by his six sons, Donald of Owosso, Dennis (Barb) of Montrose, David (Diane) of Chesaning, Randy (Arlene) of Chesaning, Gerald (Esther) of Chesaning, and Thomas (Shelly) of Oakley; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary, Helen, Mildred, and Agnes; a brother, Bill; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bernadine; two sons, Daryl and Richie; and three brothers, John, Frank, and Sam.
