Age 73 of Oakley passed away suddenly on Monday, April 25, 2016 in Orlando, Florida.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, May 2, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father Bill Gruden officiating; the family will receive friends from 9:00am until the time of service. Visitation will also be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, April 30 and from 1:00 to 8:00pm on Sunday, May 1 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:00pm on Sunday.
Jerry was born on March 24, 1943 to Paul and Barbara (Hedrich) Beckman in Chesaning. He married the love of his life, Julie Jamick on May 9, 1975. Jerry had farmed and also worked for Peet Packing and Hedrich Excavating before retiring.
Jerry enjoyed restoring antique tractors, traveling, and spending time up north with family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Julie; his mother, Barbara; his 6 children, Dale (Dorothy) Beckman, Kenneth Beckman (Theresa Austin), Dean (Dawn) Beckman, Kimberly (Tom) Marshalek, Jerrod (Jennifer) Beckman, and Jeremiah Beckman (Holly Glinke); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren; his brother, Robert (Lenore) Beckman; his sister, Barbara (Chris) Wenzlick; his sister-in-law, Karen Beckman; his brother-in-law, Harvey (Julie) Jamick; his sisters-in-law, Joyce (Mike) Evans, and Carol Jamick (John Walker); as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father, Paul; his brother, Edward (Pete); his daughter, Mary; and his father and mother-in-law, Harvey and Cecilia Jamick.
Jerry was a loving husband and father, he was known by his unique laugh and has touched many lives with kindness and a good word. Jerry always said he didn't want anyone dressing up at his funeral. He was a casual, down-to-earth man; please honor him with casual clothes.
