Jeane M. Lienau of Chesaning passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Saginaw. Her age was 81 years.
Jeane was born in Owosso on December 7, 1939, the daughter of the late John and Helen (Tithof) Nietling. Jeane was a lifetime resident of Chesaning. She graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School in Chesaning in the Class of 1957. She was united in marriage to Edward J. Lienau on April 12, 1958. They were married for over 51 years before his death on December 5, 2009.
Mrs. Lienau was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter Parish Catholic Church in Chesaning. She enjoyed Bingo and her trips to the casino, All Bright Shores, and Shipshewana. Most of all, Jeane loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her four daughters, Denise (Brad) Alcorn, Brenda Lienau (Mike Dobrovic), Michele Shooltz, and Sheryl (David) Keller, all of Chesaning; seven grandchildren, Kelly (Sara), Ashley, Patricia (Ryan), Nick, Brook (Jeff) Jacob (Lexi) and Leah; seven great-grandchildren, Angel, Lillia, Emma, Hunter, Abel, Madeline, RJ, Rayana, and Jaxton; her sisters, Virginia Padowicz of White Cloud and Diane (Mike) Koviack of Chesaning; sister-in-law, Donna (Jack) Hopkins of Oakley; brother-in-law, Roy (Kathy) Lienau of Chesaning; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathy (and husband, Jerry) Brown; sister-in-law, Catherine Lienau; and brothers-in-law, Bill Werner and Robert Padowicz.
A memorial mass will be announced later. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Peter Parish Catholic Church.
