Esther C. (Reiber) Buxman

Oakley, Mich.

Passed away Thursday afternoon May 7, 2015 at the Hospice House of Shiawassee County, age 82. Visitation will take place on Sunday May 10 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. Holy Mass will take place on Monday May 11 at 10:00 am at St.Peter Catholic Church, Chesaning.

Esther Reiber was born Sept.16, 1932 in Chesaning. Her parents were Joseph and Lillian (Grinnwald) Reiber. She loved quilting, feeding birds so she and her cat Annie could watch them together. She also loved horses and all other animals. Esther belonged to the Red Hat Society,which she loved.

She retired from Steering Gear after working there 38 years. She was their first woman foreman. She belonged to Local 599.

Esther had been married to Gerald Hafner. She then married Bob Buxman. He has passed away. Esther is survived by her children: Edward Hafner of St.Johns, Rodney (Betty) Hafner, Cindy (Phil) Cross of Chesaning. Grandchildren: Jason and Jennifer Coon, John Coon, Lucas and Natasha Coon, Shasta and Tasha Cross. Great Grandchildren: Ian and Oan Coon, Haley and Jacoby Coon, Davey and Alivia Coon, Andy and Rody Jr. Hafner, Cody, Devin and Dillon Dorsett, Nicole, Mitchell, Alex and Andrew Cross. Brothers: George of Bay City, Howard (Myra) of Oakley, Joseph of Merrill, and Frank and Rosalie of Chesaning. Sisters: Frances of St.Charles and Agnes of Oakley. And her beloved cat Annie.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, her sisters Blanche, Edith and Carole, her brothers Fred, Jack and Edward.
