Edward P. Mahoney of Chesaning passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Union Court Assisted Living in Chesaning. He was 70 years of age.
Edward was born in Saginaw on November 5, 1950, the son of Bernard A. and Maxine L. (Flory) Mahoney. Edward was a lifelong resident of Chesaning. He graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School in the Class of 1968. He went on to trade school to start his career as a Master Electrician. He owned his own business, Mahoney Electric Company, in Chesaning.
Edward was a lifelong member of St. Peter Parish Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Christopher Council 2943.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Kelly (Bill) Vermillion and Kyle (Shannon) Mahoney; grandchildren, Megan, Ryan, and Brett Czeiszperger, Logan Granger, and Alexandria, Autumn, Bryn, and Kayden Mahoney; siblings, Pat (Diana) Mahoney, Ken (Linda) Mahoney, Colleen (Dennis) McAlpine, Sue (Steve) Weigold, Rob (Pam) Mahoney, and Maureen (Steve) Johnson; sister-in-law, Kathy Mahoney; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clare Mahoney; nephew, Nicolas Weigold; and special uncle, James Flory.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 South Wood Street, Chesaning. Fr. William Gruden will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Misiuk Funeral Home and then Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass. A Knights of Columbus Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
