Betty Lou Hollenback

 

Age 67 of Chesaning passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw.

 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11AM at St. Peter Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the Church from 9AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date.

 

Betty was born on January 21, 1955 to Andrew and Christine (Krupp) Vrable in Saginaw, MI. She was the twelfth of thirteen children. She attended St. Michael’s School and graduated from New Lothrop High in 1973. She then married the love of her life, Roger Hollenback, on September 28, 1974 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Maple Grove. They celebrated 48 years of marriage this year.

 

During her life, Betty worked at Frank’s Bakery for 42 years. She always had a passion for baking and cooking. She loved hosting parties for her friends and large family. When Betty wasn't baking, she could be found canning vegetables from her garden or cruising with her husband in their classic car. Betty will forever be remembered as a selfless, giving, and happy person. Most of all, she’ll be remembered for the love she had for her grandchildren.

 

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Roger; children, Rachel Hollenback (Kent Gartside) and Kyle (Megan) Hollenback; grandchildren, Davis and Abram; Siblings, Arnold (Janet) Vrable, Sally (Frank) Reiber, Janet (Don) Amman, Jim (Ellie) Vrable, Joyce (Ron) Amman, Bob (Marlene) Vrable, Ange Angst, Rog (Lois) Vrable, Ralph (Marty) Vrable, Alice (Dave) Pappenheimer, and Sheila (Phil) Giesken; and sister-in-law Yvonne Vrable.

 

She is predeceased by her parents; Brother, Carl Vrable; and brother-in-law, Norman Angst.
