Age 88 of Chesaning passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Pleasant View Medical Care Facility.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 9 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel from 2:00 to 8:00pm with a Rosary prayed at 7:00pm. Visitation will also be held at the church on Monday from 10:00am until the service.

Arnold was born on June 2, 1930 to Fred and Lena (Wenzel) Schultz in Saginaw. He married Barbara Hollenback on January 31, 1970; they celebrated 48 years of marriage this year.

Arnold worked as an auto body repairman for 35 years, retiring in 1989. He was a longtime member of St. Michael's Church of Oakley and St. Peter Catholic Church. During his life, he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, racing, and taking care of his lawn.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Barbara Schultz; his children, Arnold (Colleen) Schultz Jr., Alan (Nancy) Schultz, Jill (Dennis) Thiel, Karen (Matt) Coughlin, Nancy (Jerry) Hilbrandt, Sally Gainer, and Jeff (Dana) Alexander; his grandchildren, Brandi, Sean, Nicole, Joshua, Andrew (Olivia) Thiel, Jessica, Justin, Joe, Ashley, and Sam; his great-grandchildren, John Dale, Alivia, Alyssa, and Bentley; his brother, Everett (Sally) Schultz; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Susan; his granddaughter, Heather; his parents, Fred and Lena Schultz; his brother, Don Schultz; his sister, Viola Buckey; and his in-laws, Clem and Martha Hollenback.

Memorial contributions are suggested to City Rescue Missions.
