Obituary

Ann Mae Adler Giesken Montgomery – died Wednesday September 9, 2020 at her residence. She was 92 years of age.

Ann was born December 14, 1927 in Detroit to the late Milton and Jeanne (Belanger) Adler. She was a 1945 graduate of Saginaw Arthur Hill. She attended Michigan State University and earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration. Ann studied Shorthand, Business law, literature, and fine arts. Learning was always important to her. She worked at International Harvester Company for 6 years as a Stenographer. Ann was united in marriage to Leonard Giesken on June 7, 1952 and moved to Chesaning. He preceded her in death on Oct 23, 1989. She then married Donald Montgomery of St. Charles in 1993. He preceded her in death in 1996. In 1952 Ann became Co-Founder of the Len Giesken Improvement Company now known as Giesken’s Cabinetry + Flooring,  owned by Phil and Sheila Giesken. Ann retired at the age of 85. Ann served on several boards and initiatives including Socorro, which was a program to keep kids away from drugs and provide a safe place to be with friends. She served on the Chesaning Library Board, and The Parks Commission, where they worked tirelessly to open up the land behind the library to build Cole Park. Ann established the Toast Mistress Club in Oakley which taught how to give speeches and empower women to lead meetings and grow in the workplace.

Ann has three children: Phil (Sheila) Giesken of Chesaning, Jean Giesken (her cat, Sunny) of Chesaning and Jill (Phillip) Watson of Fenton; five grandchildren: Ashlee (Brian) Adelberg of Montrose, Blair (Mike) Cook of Rockford, Greyson, Gentry and Gaia Watson all of Fenton; one great grandson Nash of Rockford; brother, David (Betty) Adler of Bay City; nieces and nephews. A brother, Milton, also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be private with burial in Wildwood Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the family which will be designated at a later date. Following Covid 19 guidelines, masks must be worn, and social distancing practiced at the funeral home.
